Science Week

Each year through Science Week, Pittcon offers outreach and support programs for science education in the city that hosts its annual convention. This year the outreach program includes teacher workshops, student workshops and a lecture/demonstration assembly. The support program also provides grants to schools.
Science Week
Teacher Workshops
Teacher workshops will be presented by leading educators and scientists on Saturday and Sunday, February 27 and 28, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center. The programs begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 3:00 p.m. There will be workshops covering a wide variety of topics specific to elementary, middle, and high school science. Lunch will be provided for each attendee.
Student Workshops
The student workshops in Science Week at Pittcon 2010 will be offered March 1 through March 3, 2010, at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL during Pittcon 2010. The program begins promptly at 9:00 AM and ends about 12:30 PM each day.
School Grants
Grants will be used in the Pittcon 2010 Science Week program to encourage teacher participation in the teacher workshops. Teacher workshop attendance will qualify attendees to submit an application for a grant to their school (one grant per school) for the purchase of science teaching materials.
Registration forms for all of the programs will be posted in September.
