Proposals developed collaboratively by more than one teacher at a school are strongly encouraged as are proposals requesting less than the maximum award.  The evaluation committee will score proposals on a 100 point scale according to the point values indicated on the application.  Elementary, middle school and high school teacher proposals will be considered in separate categories. Each teacher and/or school is allowed only one proposal.

Schools submitting winning proposals will receive the equipment directly from the supplier.  The Pittsburgh Conference reserves the right to partially fund any proposal.  It is suggested (though not required) that materials be ordered from companies that have been cooperative with Pittcon in the past as additional discounts may be applicable. Such companies include: Fisher Scientific, Flinn Scientific, Frey Scientific, NASCO, Science Kit, Vernier Software, and VWR Scientific.

If you have questions regarding eligibility, application procedure, or any other details of these Science Equipment Grants, please feel free to contact Charles Holifield, Science Week Committee Chair-elect at holifield@pittcon.org or Patty Golick, Pittsburgh Conference, 800-825-3221 extension 208.

Sincerely,

Jim Bock
