GRANT PROGRAM
Attendance at one or more Teacher Workshop(s) entitles an attendee to apply for a grant to purchase science-related teaching materials for their school. These grants may be as much as $500 to $1000 each to any school within a 150 mile radius of Orlando. Schools must also have a student registration over 200 to be eligible. (One major grant allowed per school.)
Pittcon 2012 Teacher Workshop attendance is required to participate in this Grant Program.
Schools represented by multiple workshop attendees will be allowed multiple grants but should not exceed the following guidelines:
- All grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, as funds are allotted. Participants will be encouraged to submit a “wish list”, as additional funds may be awarded if available.
- $500 grant for one teacher and an additional $250/school for each additional participant with a maximum of three participants total per school ($1000 maximum request per school). However, there are no limits on total teachers participating from one school.
- Teachers in those schools should collaborate to determine how funds should be distributed and submit your requests together. A separate form will be used for each teacher.
The application form and additional information regarding these grants will be available early in 2012. Forms will also be available on-site at the workshops. Forms will be submitted to the Pittcon 2012 Science Week Committee. Requests for quotations and prepaid orders to vendors will be placed directly with vendors by the Pittcon 2012 Science Week Committee. Equipment orders will be shipped directly to the teachers at their verified school address.
