The 2007 Technical Program
is now closed. |
We thank you all for your participation in this year's Technical Program and welcome your contributions for 2008.
Please check back in late April to submit an
abstract for Pittcon 2008.
A Message from the Program Chairman
The Technical Program at the 58th Annual Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon 2007) will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA from Sunday, February 25, to Thursday, March 1, 2007. The Technical Program Committee is organizing five day's worth of Invited Symposia, Workshops, New Product Forums, and Contributed Oral and Poster sessions to provide the world’s most comprehensive coverage of the latest developments in the traditional and emerging disciplines of analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy.
The program will be both broad in scope and well balanced. Major focus areas of the program will include:
- Bioanalytical chemistry (proteomics, genomics, and metabolomics)
- Biomedicine
- Neurochemistry
- Polymer science
- Informatics
- Pharmaceutical science
- Nanotechnology
- Environmental chemistry
- Forensic analysis
- Food analysis
- Applied molecular spectroscopy
- Mass spectrometry
- Chemical separations
In addition, a number of prestigious awards will be presented at Pittcon 2007 including the Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award, the Pittsburgh Spectroscopy Award, the Pittsburgh Conference Achievement Award, and the Ralph N. Adams Award in Bioanalytical Chemistry.
As in last year, the Technical Program will begin Sunday afternoon with symposia, oral, and poster presentations followed by an Award Presentation/Plenary Lecture and a Poster Mixer.
New this year, the American Chemical Society Division of Analytical Chemistry will be co-programming with The Pittsburgh Conference. This will involve several invited symposia and contributed sessions as well as some poster sessions. For some time, The Pittsburgh Conference has provided a forum for the presentation of the Analytical Chemistry Award for Young Investigators in Separation Science, an award sponsored by the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry. The Pittsburgh Conference is excited to be able to work more closely with the ACS Analytical Division.
Sincerely,
Melinda R. Stephens, Ph.D. Pittcon 2007 Program Chairman |
