Move liquids with sound! Acoustic droplet ejection (ADE) is the state-of-the-art technology for moving ultra-low volumes of fluids. Nothing ever touches the samples so there is never any cross-contamination. Labcyte Inc. is pleased to introduce two new products using this exciting technology.
We introduce the Portrait(TM) 630 reagent multi-spotter, bringing automated MALDI matrix deposition to the new field of tissue imaging mass spectrometry. Precise drop-on-drop positioning and flexible droplet timing optimize crystal formation for more reproducible and higher quality mass spectra. Our guest speaker, Dr. Pierre Chaurand, will explain how the Portrait 630 is used at Vanderbilt University’s renowned Mass Spectrometry Research Center to enhance discovery in proteomics, cancer research and other applications.
We also introduce a new addition to our award-winning Echo(r) liquid handling platform. The POD(TM) 810 plate assembler enhances the performance of an Echo liquid handler by incorporating a robotic plate handler, bulk filler, plate stackers, scheduling software and other components into a single integrated system. The POD prepares more than 660,000 wells in replicated plates or more than 115,000 wells per day for primary and secondary screening, including dose-response experiments. Truly non-contact liquid transfer minimizes false results due to cross-contamination, accumulated error or sample precipitation while it eliminates the cost of pipette tips and wash procedures.
