MESSAGE FROM PITTCON 2012 PRESIDENT, JON PEACE

I first attended Pittcon in 1984 in Atlantic City, NJ. I was a little apprehensive as someone had talked me into presiding at one of the technical sessions. This in itself would not have been too traumatic, but the session was scheduled at 8:00 am on Monday. I had the responsibility of ensuring that the session followed a format which I had never seen. I survived with minimal chaos and have since spent considerable time in technical sessions including having organized an invited symposium on science education.
Over the years, Pittcon has been a great source of informationboth on analytical techniques and equipment. This information has assisted me through changes in my responsibilities and career covering mass spectrometry, gas chromatography and high pressure liquid chromatography. But as valuable as this information was and is, the true benefit of attending Pittcon was the contacts that I madeexperts in various fields, vendors who could be relied upon for assistance, and other chemists dealing with the same issues that I was. Many of these contacts are now long time friends.
So, join us in Orlando on March 1115, 2012 and Get Connected with old friends and new!
